In June 2025, at the 85th Grand Chapter in Denver, Colorado, Sigma Chi brothers and guests had the privilege of hearing a memorable keynote address from a remarkable father-son duo during the closing banquet. Significant Sig and Retired Lieutenant General Paul E. Funk, MONTANA STATE 1961 and Significant Sig and Retired General Paul E. Funk II, MONTANA STATE 1984, shared insights from their Sigma Chi experiences and distinguished military careers, captivating the audience with inspiring stories and valuable life lessons.

Local Sigma Chi alumni come together every September to celebrate the Merlin Olsen Day of Service, a fraternity-wide tradition held each year on September 15 in honor of Brother Merlin Olsen, Utah State 1962 — NFL Hall of Famer, broadcaster, philanthropist, and a lifelong servant to others.

This year’s focus highlights Sigma Chi’s new partnership with the American Red Cross, giving us the chance to support blood drives and community relief efforts alongside other meaningful local projects. Whether lending a hand at a neighborhood clean-up, volunteering with a local food bank, or helping the Red Cross serve our community, there’s a way for every brother to get involved.

Mark your calendar, bring your family, and join us in honoring Merlin’s spirit of service. Together, we can make a visible difference right here in our own backyard.

The Circle of Constantine is a facilitated small group discussion with experiential exercises, focusing on a thoughtful revisit with our ritual, offering brothers a chance to reflect on the fraternity’s core values and teachings, shared experiences and how they impacted our lives from our undergrad days to today.

It is a combination of lectures, exercise, reading, discussions, reflection, and chance to share with brothers’ thoughts and feelings about our ritual. Think of a Book Club, meets Bible Study, meets Chapter Meeting.

Come with an open heart, inquisitive mind, and desire to slow down, listen, talk, share with and learn from brothers as we discuss our beautiful ritual.

This is not a passive event, brothers will be talking, participating and moving around. It is important that we set an expectation of respect and decorum, appropriate to our ritual, which is why all at least wear a dress jacket. There will be time for reflection as well as brotherhood. Please be on time, as late arrivals will disrupt the dynamic of the experience.
